According to the Thai Ministry of Commerce's newsletter, the active ingredients in Asiatic pennywort are found to heal septic wounds and chronic wounds very effectively . It is an antiseptic medicine, and is also used as a general tonic.

Triterpenes, i.e. Asiatic acide and madecassic acid, and triterpene ester glycosides, i.e. Asiaticoside and madacassoside.

1. It expedites the healing of wounds; and
